We’ve been in business for over 100 years.
Citizen Printing House
Originally called the Enterprise
Printing Shop and located in the
basement of the current K of C
building, the business moved to
its present location at 99 West
Main and became the home of
the Allegany Citizen Newspaper
on and off from 1896 - 1976.
From 1905 to 1921, the
newspaper office was relocated
to 1 E Main Street (Burton
Hotel). But, when business
boomed, the original building at
99 West Main was purchased, enlarged and renovated for the growing enterprise.
The Mutsclechner family (father Joe, sons Joseph and Allie) ran the business until
Allie’s retirement, when J. Mark Moyer, a grandson of the founder, purchased the
business. When the newspaper issued its final copy in 1976, the name of the
business was changed to Citizen Printing House. Dennis Burton purchased the
building in 1989 for his Engineering/Consulting firm, and decided to keep the print
shop operating. Numerous renovations were made, and most of the original
equipment was replaced with more modern technology. Today the print shop is
owned by Lynda Burton Dunn. With employees Edgar Monroe, printer and Paul
Zielinski, technician, the team works together to make you feel at ease. They
continue to offer quality custom printing to both businesses and individuals, as the
company has for over 100 years.
